DAPHNE FAR EAST HONG KONG TO SINGAPORE - HA LONG BAY, Ha Long Bay Cruise
A – Ha Long Bay Cruise (Morning) – approx. 3 hrs.
Ha Long Bay, boasting a charming coastline and stretching in 1,500 km along the seashore
with thousands of limestone and dolomite islets emerging from the clear blue water of Tonkin
Gulf and numerous grottoes formed by the tide erosion thousands years ago, has been
recognized as one of the World Natural Heritages since December 1994.
The famous bay is one of the most picturesque scenic spots in Vietnam, a part of which is
bordered by extensive coal mines of Quang Ninh, Hon Gai and Cam Pha.
With a local boat cruising around the bay, you will have an opportunity to view a singularly
splendid seascape of the world that you will never forget.
Leaving the ship in a local motorboat, you will begin your 3-hour cruise around Ha Long Bay.
Firstly, you will cruise past Bai Chay open air market. Later on, the boat will take you across
some limestone islets such as Cock-Fighting, Incense Urn, Stone Dog, and the Heavenly
Palace cave with inside visit, then cruise back directly to the ship.

B – Ha Long Countryside (Morning) – approx. 5 ½ hrs.
Ha Long Bay, boasting a charming coastline and stretching in 1,500 km (along the seashore
with thousands of limestone and dolomite islets emerging from the clear, blue water of Tonkin
Gulf and numerous grottoes formed by the tide erosion thousands years ago, has been

Leaving the ship by tender service, then you will take a land transportation to explore Ha Long
countryside. On the way to Yen Tu, you will see seemingly endless rice fields, farming work

Upon arrival at Yen Tu pagoda, stroll around the main hall of the pagoda to explore the long
history of Buddhism which is presented through pictures on walls and ceiling. You will also feel
safe and peaceful when visited the garden located behind of the pagoda.
Your next exploration will be the typical village where you can see rice fields, farming work and
other daily activities of local people. Walking on the village road, you can feel the fresh
environments and leisurely life in here. You will also have a chance to exchange culture and
life’ style with local people by talking with some typical houses’ owners while enjoying boiled
sweet-potato and green tea which is served by them.
Leaving from the village, you will re-board the coach for returning the Ha Long city on the
same way. Upon arrival at Bai Chay town, you will have some free time for shopping at Bai
Chay souvenir market where you can find most of handicraft products and souvenir gifts which
is made in Ha Long. Then be tendered back to the ship.

A – Binglanggu Minority Village (Afternoon) – approx. 4 hrs.
You will depart from the ship directly to Minority Village (approx. 1 hour drive).
Binglanggu Minority Village lies in the Ganza Ridge Natural Reserve on the border land of
Sanya city and Baoting County. It covers an area of 24.6 hectares and about 28 km away from
Sanya City. It is named Binglanggu because it is formed by a several km continuous vale,
covered with thousands of arecas and lush jungles at both sides. The Village consists of three
areas - the primitive Li Village, the Ecological Miao Village and the Tropical Jungles. You will
find out the customs of the Li People whom are the original habitants of Hainan Island, and
enjoy the variety of the tropical fruit - special Li Ethnic snack; the most native and sweet
Shanlan wine; the traditional wild vegetable dish, the exciting sky rope way and the leisure

DAPHNE FAR EAST HONG KONG TO SINGAPORE - SANYA, Nanshan Temple
B – Nanshan Temple (Afternoon) – approx. 4 hrs.
Nanshan Temple, located at about 50 km from Sanya and featuring the architecture style of
the booming period of Tang Dynasty, is the core of Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Park. It has
been the largest Buddhist temple project approved by the central government since the
founding of the PRC. The location was personally selected by Master Zhao Pu-Chu, the late
Director of China Buddhism Association, who as well inscribed for the Temple.
The representative constructions of the Temple are: Hall of Humane King i.e. the entrance to
Nashan Temple. The Golden Palace is also called Da-Xiong Palace. It implies inexhaustible
power and wisdon of the Buddha. Three statues of Buddha are enshrined in the palace
representing space. Sakyamuni Buddha is in the middle, Apothecary Buddha on the left and
Amitabha Buddha the right. The entire Temple looks pristine yet magic, awe-inspiring yet
luxuriant. It is by the sea and as it goes: the sky joints the waters to wash away all distractions
of life, the waves beat the rocks to produce heavenly sound. At this pure Brahma land blessed
between heaven and the sea, there are countless visitors who come to release their good
wishes, praying for blessing of peace and prosperity. After the visit you will to the Silk Market
Place for some shopping. Then return to the ship.

A – Hue Imperial City (Full day with lunch) – approx. 12 ½ hrs.
Hue, ancient imperial city of Nguyen Kings (1802 – 1945), is about 100 km Northern
of Da Nang. Traditionally, the city has been one of Vietnam’ cultural, religious and
educational centres. Although suffering extensive damage during the war, the
timeless old city still remain its main attractions which lie not only in its historical and

architectural value but also in the natural beauty of its location along the banks of the Huong
river. In December 1993, Hue was recognized as a world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
Leaving the port in an air-conditioned coach, you will first take 3-hour drive along the scenic
national route Nº1 through Hai Van (Cloudy Sea) pass at an attitude of about 500 metres. You
will stop over at the top of the pass for a deep breathing and a superb view. On descent, you
will traverse Lang Co fishing village, a peninsula of palm shaded sand with a crystal – clear
turquoise blue lagoon on one side and many kilometers of beach front facing the East Sea on
the other side.
Upon arrival in Hue, you will visit the Imperial Citadel the design of which was based on that of
Beijing’s Forbidden City. It is made up of three different wall enclosures: the Exterior
Enclosure, Imperial Enclosure and the Forbidden Purple City – Imperial Enclosure and the
Forbidden Purple City are enclosed within the Exterior Enclosure. Unfortunately, the Imperial
Citadel sustained heavy damage during the war, and many of its majestic buildings were
destroyed. However, since the Imperial Citadel is recognized as world cultural heritage,
considerable restoration has been done to convey its overall magnificence and you will find it a
fascinating place to explore. Of special interests are the Five Phoenix Watch Tower where the
king used to sit during grand royal rituals, the Palace of Supreme Harmony where the Royal
Court organised solemn ceremonies in the presence of the King, the Queen and the high
ranking officials, the Five Shrines where to be dedicated to worship the Nguyen Lords, Kings
and monarchs, the Nine Dynamic Urns each of which represents a king of Nguyen Dynasty.
Your next exploration is King Tu Duc’s Mausoleum, one of the Imperial Tombs, located on a
hill side, 09 km Southwest of Hue. The mausoleum covers an area of 225 hectares and was
constructed between 1864 – 1867 by mountainous people who were executed after the
construction was finished to protect the tomb from raids by vandals and thieves. The buildings
in here are placed in two axes: the one, lines with trees, leading to a lake near the pavilion of
the Emperor Tu Duc’s boats; the other, called Triumphant Way, leading to a lake near the
pavilion of the Stele.
After that, you will proceed to a hotel’s restaurant where you will enjoy an Imperial Court styled
lunch with delicious Vietnamese specialties (includes 1 drink: local beer or soft drink or mineral
water). Your tour program will continue with an indoor visit to Thien Mu pagoda (Heavenly
Lady Pagoda). The Pagoda was built in 1600s, on Ha Khe hill, left bank of Huong River, and
was rebuilt several times. It now covers an area of 4 hectares. In here, you will see some
noteworthy works and valuable objects: Phuoc Duyen Tower of seven tiers each of which
dedicated to worship of one reincarnation of the Buddha, Dai Hong Chung Bell which was cast
in 1700s and weights 2,052 kg, and a marble stele of 2.30 metres in height and 1.2 metres in
width which was made in 1715 and is mounted on a marble tortoise.
Last but not least is the self-exploration of the Dong Ba market, which includes different types
of commodity and daily needs such as fish, vegetables, meat, fruits, handicrafts, cloths.
Re-boarding your coach, you will return to Da Nang port (approx. 3 hours drive, through Hai
Van tunnel) and re-embark the ship.

B – My Son & Hoi An Town (Full day with lunch) – approx. 9 hrs.
My Son, a World Cultural Heritage, is located in a secret valley 70 km South-West of Da Nang.
Originally, this was a Hinduism's holy land of the Champa Kingdom. Here, you will find some of

the symbols of Champa Religion like temples, daily working equipments and also marvelous
sculptures.
Leaving the port in an air-conditioned coach, you will take a one-hour and a-half drive along
the provincial route n° 603. On the way, you will have the chance to see the typical countryside
of Central Vietnam. Upon arrival at My Son Holy See, you will walk on the stone road, you will
step by step visit three Champa temples where a lot of Champa praying equipments are
displayed. Leaving the My Son, it will take you almost 45 minutes by coach to get to Hoi An, an
ancient town of Quang Nam Province, 30 km South-East of Da Nang, located on the banks of
Thu Bon River. Originally it was a seaport in the Champa Kingdom, than in the 15th century,
under the Tran Dynasty, it became known as Hai Phong. During the 15th and 16th Centuries,
Hoi An was very popular to many foreign merchants and its name was mispronounced as Faifo
by the Europeans. During the 17th and the 18th centuries, it became a busy trading center and
foremost seaport in Central Vietnam. The presence of many Eastern and Western merchants
in Hoi An had a great influence on its architecture, culture and customs. Strolling around the
town through its narrow streets, you will find a fascinating blend of European, Chinese,
Vietnamese and Japanese temples, community houses, shrines, clan houses, shop houses
and homes. Many of them still retain their original wooden framework, carved doors and
windows, sculpted stuccos and ancient furniture.
Upon arrival at HoiAn, you will head to a visit to the Japanese covered bridge, built in 1593 by
the Japanese community of Hoi An to link their neighborhood to the Chinese quarter across
the river. The bridge was roofed so that it would shelter pedestrians from both rain and sun.
Over the centuries the ornamentation of the bridge has remained faithful to the original
Japanese design.
Your exploration will continue with a visit of the Assembly Hall of Fukien Chinese
Congregation. This Assembly was founded in 1697 by Fukien Chinese merchants of Hoi An as
a place to hold community meetings. Later on, it was transformed into a temple for the worship
of Thien Hau lady, the Goddess of the Sea and Protector of Fishermen and Sailors, who was
born in Fukien Province. The Chinese architectural style together with talented Vietnamese
workmanship have enriched the Hall with Hoi An’s cultural characters.
Then, you will proceed for a local restaurant where you will enjoy a typical Vietnamese lunch
(includes 1 drink: local beer or soft drink or mineral water). Your tour will be ended with free
time for shopping at the town.

C1 – Da Nang City & Marble Mountain (Morning) – approx. 4 ½ hrs.
Da Nang is located on the West bank of Han River. Formerly known as Tourane under French
rule, it had grown from a small fishing village into an important port in Central Vietnam. It was
also the landing point of the Americans during the Vietnam War. Today, Da Nang is the fourth
largest city in Vietnam offering many fascinating cultural and historical places of interest.
Leaving the port, you will first visit the Cham Museum, built in 1915 and officially inaugurated
by “L’Ecole Française de l’Extreme Orient” (French Institute for Far Eastern Studies). In here,
you will discover an extensive collection of some 300 sandstone sculptures and carvings from
7th to 15th centuries. The artefacts are displayed in four rooms, featuring the four different
periods in accordance with their origins and the different influences that shaped the culture and
history of the Cham people.

Then enjoy a panorama tour of Da Nang downtown in a pedal cab. You will ride through some
main streets of the city, and then take a walk around the City Square to explore daily activities
of the local people and visit Han Market.
Your exploration will continue now to the Marble Mountain, located at 8 Km South of Da Nang
Downtown. The mountains consist of five stone hillocks which represent the five basic
elements of the universe according to the Chinese philosophy. They were once five offshore
islets but then became part of the mainland due to silting up over the years. The largest and
famous of these is Thuy Son (Water Mountain). During the Cham period, a number of natural
caves in Thuy Son were used as Hindu Shrines. Later Vietnamese people used them for
Buddhist sanctuaries. These mountains are also a valuable source of red, white and bluegreen
marble. Then you will stroll around the Non Nuoc Stone-Carving Village at the foot of the
mountain. You will see here firsthand skilled carvers chisel out a great variety of fine marble
products of all sizes and designs. You may buy one as a souvenir.
Return to the port and then re-embark the ship.

D – Hoi An Ancient Town (Afternoon) – approx. 5 hrs.
Hoi An, an ancient town of Quang Nam Province, 30 km South-East of Da Nang, is located on
the banks of Thu Bon River. Originally a seaport in the Champa Kingdom, it had become a
coastal town of Vietnam, known as Hai Phong under the Tran Dynasty by the 15th Century.
During the 15th and 16th Centuries, Hoi An was very popular to many foreign merchants and its
name was mispronounced as Faifo by the Europeans. Throughout the 17th and the 18th
centuries, it became a busy trading centre and foremost seaport in Central Vietnam. The
presence of many Eastern and Western merchants in Hoi An had major influence on its
architecture, culture and customs. Today, a delightful mixture of ancient structures with local
residents’ daily life creates a unique image of a modern-day town in the atmosphere of bygone
days. The town has been recognized as one of the World Cultural Heritages since late 1999.
Leaving the port, it will take around 45 minutes drive to Thanh Ha ceramic village, which is
located in Thanh Ha ward, Hoi An town.
Having its origins from Thanh Hoa province, the pottery-making profession in Thanh Ha Village
absorbed some techniques, original in Quang Nam Province and hence their products have
become different from all the others in Vietnam, though also based on clay with manual
manipulation and kiln heat. The originality of their products resides in the colour, durability,
lightness and decoration. Although it has experienced various changes of time, economic
difficulties and foreign competition, the local inhabitants are always trying to preserve a
traditional profession, inherited from their ancestors. Boarding the local boat for cruise on Thu
Bon River to Hoi An Ancient town. Thu Bon is a small river flowing silently throughout the stone
edges in the west of Quang Nam. Thu Bon River had raised alluvial for Que Son, Dai Loc, and
Duy Xuyen lands. From here, Thu Bon and Vu Gia rivers join together before splitting in two
somewhere in Dien Ban: the northern is the main river called Thu Bon, the southern is the
smaller branch called Ba Ren. Close to the sea, Thu Bon and Ba Ren rivers join up with the
Truong Giang River which passes through Hoi An Ancient town and ends up in the Cua Dai
Sea. Then, you will have chance to stroll around for exploration the town by your own.

According to popular belief, Nha Trang derives its name from the Cham word “Jatrang“,
meaning “Reeds River”. Now the city is very well-known for white sandy beaches, turquoise
waters and rocky outcrops. Apart from that, it also has a peaceful countryside with beautiful
scenery, pure fresh air and hospital people.
Leaving the port on an air-conditioned coach, you will firstly depart for Bao Dai villa, where you
can enjoy your photo shooting and take a look over Nha Trang city. Upon arrival at the boat

visited spots in Nha Trang. Mun means black and this island is named Mun because of its
special black-coloured stones that cannot be found elsewhere. Only 10 km from the centre of
Nha Trang, the island appears with high rise and very dangerous cliffs, forming numerous
grottoes and caves. By glass-bottomed boat you can also explore various tropical sea
creatures and corals. Cruising back to mainland, you will pass by Tam island, Mieu island, Tri
Nguyen Aquarium and the fishing village.
After buffet lunch at a beach-side restaurant (include 1 drink: local beer or soft drink or mineral
water), your next exploration is Nha Trang bay Club, where is located closed to Cham Ponagar
Tower. It looks like a museum which displays all photos about local activities as well as
fisherman tools/ instrument.
Next you will proceed to the Po Nagar Cham Towers, also known as Thap Ba (or the Lady of
the City), a remnant of the ancient Cham civilisation. The towers, built and renovated between
the seventh and twelfth centuries from loose brick with neither plaster nor mortar, were used
for the worship of the goddess Po Nagar of the Dua clan, which ruled over the southern part of
the Cham Kingdom. From the hillside where the towers stand you will have a spectacular view
of Nha Trang Bay and its shores lined with numerous colourful fishing boats. Today both
Chinese and Vietnamese Buddhists come to the Po Nagar Towers to pray and make offerings
according to their respective traditions.

You will leave the port aboard your coach to visit the Institute of Oceanography, built in 1923
and officially opened in 1972. This is one of the first research centres that have ever been built
in Viet Nam. Here, you will explore a variety of colourful live specimen of local marine life
housed in large aquariums and glass tanks, ten thousands of Dead Sea life specimens,
including stuffed sea birds and fish, corals and other sea creatures, preserved in glass jars.
Especially, a real skeleton of a whale can be seen in the institute.
Next you will proceed to the Po Nagar Cham Towers, also known as Thap Ba (or the Lady of

most ambitious pagoda and has been rebuilt several times. Long Son Tu means "the Pagoda

embellished with impressive decorations featuring mosaic dragons made from glass and

Leaving the port aboard an air-conditioned coach, you will first arrive at local boat station,
where you take a cruise by motor-boat along of the Cai River for the next exploration. On the
way, you have an opportunity to see fishing village and some big wooden boat workplace,
where new fishing boats are produced or maintenance is conducted for the next fishing
seasons.
Upon arrival at the Coconut Island with thousands of coconut trees surrounded, you will see
how to get the coconut from trees by local children. You will also enjoy that coconut milk then
relax.
Leaving the coconut island, your boat will take you to other island where you can see how to
make the cook stove from clay. This is a popular cooking tool of Vietnamese families.
After cruising back to the mainland, you will take a short rest and enjoy tropical fruits at the

of the Southern plains, a land so rich and prosperous with agricultural and industrial products.
Many of rivers and canals flow through the city, longest being the Saigon River which covers a
distance of 106 km across the city. Ho Chi Minh City boasts elegant colonial architecture and
shady tree-lines avenues. Two centuries ago, merchants from all over the world had come
trading in the city, so it had been dubbed the Pearl of Orient for along time.
Leaving the port, you will first drive to the China Town, which is located at the west of the
downtown area. The town was built by Chinese and Vietnamese from 1788 and previously
called Cho Lon (Big market). Here, you will visit a famous Chinese pagoda, Thien Hau
Pagoda, dating back to the 18th century and dedicated to Lady Thien Hau, the Chinese
Goddess of the Sea. The pagoda houses beautiful ceramic figurines and a scale model of a
boat, commemorating the arrival of the first Chinese from Canton.
You excursion will continue a visit of one of the well-known lacquer workshops in the city. In
here, you can see how skilful Vietnamese craftsmen make a lacquer ware, from the beginning
stage till the finished product. There are a lot of lacquer items, from tiny boxes to full-sized
furniture, for your choice.
After you will visit the Museum of National History, which is located right at the entrance of the
Botanical and Zoological Gardens. The Museum was built in 1929 and is now filled with many
artifacts chronicling Vietnam’s 4,000 year history. In here, you will discover ancient ceramics,
traditional costumes, stone and bronze relics. You will also become acquainted with the
evolution of Vietnam’s various cultures from the Dong Son Bronze Age civilization to the Funan
civilization, the Chams and the Khmers. Later on, you will enjoy a 15-minute water puppets
show with many interesting acts, such as Fabulous Unicom Playing with Ball, Dragon Dance,
Fox Catching Ducks etc…, which are performed by one of the professional water puppetry

My Tho, capital of Tien Giang Province, is a quiet city lying on the left bank of Tien River, the
northernmost branch of the Mekong River. The city was founded in the 1680s by political
refugees from Taiwan. Today, this area is renowned for its coconut palms and prosperous fruit
orchards.
Your tour will begin with nearly two-hour drive to the Mekong Delta through Ho Chi Minh City
with elegant colonial architecture and shady-tree lined avenues, and along busy streets
thronged with people and numerous vehicles of all kinds. On the way, you will see seemingly
endless rice fields, farming work, small villages, local markets and other daily activities of local
people along the national highway.
Upon arrival at My Tho City (approx. 2 hours drive), you will get into a local boat and enter into
the watery world of the Mekong Delta with a 30-minute cruise on Tien River to Tan Thach
Ward. Here, you will leave your boat and walk through a small village, exploring local people‘s
daily life and visiting a coconut candy workshop where you can see how to make coconut

C – Cu Chi Tunnels (Morning) – approx. 5 ½ hrs.
Cu Chi District, 30 km northwestern Ho Chi Minh City, is famed for its intricate network of
underground tunnels that became legendary for its role during the two wars against the French
and later the American forces. These tunnel systems are 200 km long and consist of
innumerable trapdoors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, field hospitals,
headquarters offices, kitchens...etc. With only the most rudimentary tools, the guerrillas
managed to build the tunnels over a period of two and a half decades, beginning in the late
1940s. The tunnels were firstly used for communication between villages and for evasion from
army sweeps during the war against the French, and then used as a strategic base for the
guerrillas to firmly control Cu Chi and nearby areas as well as for intelligence agents and
sabotage teams to infiltrate Saigon. This excursion will offer you the unique opportunity to visit
a portion of this tunnel network.
Leaving the port, you will take around two-hour trip to Cu Chi District through bustling Ho Chi
Minh City with elegant colonial architecture and shady-tree lined avenues, and along busy
streets thronged with people and numerous vehicles of all kinds. On the way, you will have an
opportunity to view beautiful countryside landscapes with vast, peaceful rice paddies,
industrious peasants and water buffaloes at work.
Upon arrival at Cu Chi Park, you will first see the charts and maps detailing the tunnels
system. Afterwards, your guide will escort you to the section of the tunnel which once housed
the headquarters of the area commander. You will be amazed to find out the size and depth of
the tunnels as well as their kitchens, living quarters, bunkers, field hospitals etc. that were

Depart from the port and drive to visit Wat Lur, one of the significant Buddhist temples in town,
where you will see a wonderful ancient picture on the wall and lots of sculpture related to
religious in Cambodia. Then you will visit Tomnub Rolork where most of the local fishermen
living around Tumnub Rolok earn their living by fishing in the sea. The tour will continue with a
